**Enterprise cloud migration** is the disciplined process of moving applications, data, and infrastructure to the cloud for scalability, agility, resilience, and — done well — lower total cost. The gap between a migration that pays for itself and one that becomes a pricier version of the old problem is decided by strategy, not by choosing a provider.

It's an architecture and portfolio program: assess and sequence each workload by value and risk, pick a deliberate strategy per workload (the **7 Rs** — rehost, replatform, refactor, repurchase, retire, retain, relocate), and land everything in a governed, secure **landing zone** defined as code before migrating at scale.
